Magento – Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons2

When testing your Magento site and you get this error you can enable the exception error printing by:

  • going to your Magento Root folder and look in /errors/
  • copy the sample local.xml.sample file and create a “local.xml” version

By default the error reporting is switched off for security reasons. When you’ve tested your system and are going live with your site you should ensure that it’s switched off again.

    Sorry these are really just notes for myself and I don’t support Magento.

    Years ago when drinking in a Dundee pub we thought of the name “Polar” for a band name. The choice was made until we happened upon another band playing in Mickey Coyles a few months later also called “Polar”. That meant I had to change the name and Aves came up with Solar Polar. The Polar band playing in the pub that night changed their name too, to Snow Patrol and no-one’s heard of them since.
