I’ve let the Google ranking for the search term “Dave Walker” slip over the past year with my constant messing about with the Solar Polar website.
Previously you could enter my name into google.com and I’d pop up near front page but now I’m not appearing on page 8. Nobody goes that far down. For google.co.uk the results jump between pages 4 -> 8 even though I’m using the Adwords tool to try and remove any personalised results. Different machines are giving different results. This is something I’ll have to further research as you could usually rely on using the Google Adwords testing tool so the results are not skewed by personalised results.
To try and rise up the rankings again I’ve done the following three things so far.
- Confirmed my Google Authorship.
- Resubmitted my SiteMap
- Verified my Webmaster account with this Solar Polar website (by file – not Google Analytics)
Over the next few days I’ll embark on the most important phase which is regular blogging and I’ll also expand on how else I can improve the actual website structure to hopefully starting popping up on the front page.
