My first attempt at a healthy lifestyle went to pot after a week in Aberdeen. I’m rebooting this whole venture from today @ 19/05/2015.
I’ll soon be going for knee surgery to rebuild my ACL and get the meniscus cartilage trimmed, hopefully paving the way for me to get back to football, golf, squash & snowboarding.
If I can keep some kind of self control this time, I’m in danger of being a decent weight in 7 weeks time.
Currently I’m around 14st. That is almost obese, and officially overweight.
7 weeks at 2lbs loss per week would mean losing a stone and I should be able to push my 12st 10lb target for then with extra walking and healthy and careful diet.
I’m promising myself that I’ll never play football again overweight, which certainly doesn’t help my joints and injury status.
So here’s the very draft plan.
- May 19th -> July – weight loss with Walking & Swimming
- July 8th – Op
- August 8th – Walking
- September 8th – Full Walking Distance of 6 miles
- September -> December – Awesome core work!!
- January 2016 – Start training for Kirby 10k
Over the next few weeks I’ll be attending physio and can start to update this plan realistically. I’d like to be able to play 5-a-side footy this time next year!
